What To Wear To That 90’s Party You’ve Been Invited To A Million Times On Facebook

Return of the 90’s Fads.

Theme parties, they’re great, right? They’re great until you’ve waited half an hour before it starts to make a decision on what you’re going to wear (typical, we know). Because arriving late is a thing, you’ve bought yourself an extra half hour before you’ve got to leave, which in total gives you an hour and change to throw something together. Here’s what we would wear to a ridiculous 90’s party:

– The 90’s Prep Look: Clueless’ Cherylin Horowitz style.

jellies: These really take us back to elementary school days when we paired knee highs with our much too long skorts. Killer on the playground if you got wood chips stuck in them, lucky for you (most) of our day jobs don’t consist of swings and deathly splinters. Shop SASSE to reminisce in those halcyon days of youth.

button down skirts: Designed to cause maximum impact after you’ve had a few drinks and you’re feelin’ frisky. For quick removal, simply clutch the top of the skirt and rip it off as if you were the Hulk. Your lover will surely be enthused by your skills (and fashion sense, of course).

90’s Grunge: the Drew Barrymore look

chokers: A great stylistic approach to add sex appeal to the neck. Pull this look off the cheap way by digging through your mom’s scrap-booking collection for some black ribbon. Tie it around your neck and boom, you’re trending.

platforms: “We moonwalk the foxtrot then polka the salsa” in platforms… sang the Spice Girls never. They sure did wear the heck out of platforms though. Grab a pair and wear them with flares, we recommend DARLA.

denim: Distressed, cut-off, soaked in bleach (yes, that was a Nirvana reference), light-wash or dark-wash, the return of denim is hot for fall. Dig that denim jacket out of the pits of your closet and pair it with some denim jeans for funs.

90’s Casual: Strongly inspired by Sex & the City’s quirky main character Carrie Bradshaw, the queen of mules. Count how many episodes she wears mules- then turn it into a drinking game.

slip dresses: Made for the indecisive fashionista, slip dresses come in serious clutch when you just don’t know what to wear. You can even rock ’em braless-just be on the lookout for those sneaky nip slips. 👀

Mules: So, so, so, sooooooo 90’s. Mules are perfect for us lazy girls that don’t believe in tying laces or finding matching socks. Just slip ’em on and dash out the door. Let PiRLA save you the time you don’t need to spend searching the internet for the perfect pair.

Top 5 Spring Fashion Trends 2015

Spring is officially here. While you are folding away your coats and mittens, we would love to share our top 5 spring fashion trends 2015 forecast. We’ve also put together outfit ideas and inspirations to get you ready for your spring activities and occasions!

Oxford Flats, Casual Cool | The Concert:

Take from Rumi Neely looking cool and effortless in a pair of lightly destroyed denim jeans. The idea is to throw the crowd for a curve with a solid colored button-up to achieve an informal vibe, and with the oxford flat to tie it all perfectly together. Accessorize with an over-sized men’s watch or stacked weaved bracelets.

Neutral Color Pointy Pump | The Work Week:

Polish any outfit with a pair of nude or beige color pumps (a closet must have)! Spring is the perfect time to channel your inner fashionista-ness by adding pops of color and playing with fun patterns. The nude or natural color pump will balance your playful outfit out, looking like you’re not even trying.

Ballerina Flat | Causal Friday:

Welcome the weekend with a comfortable and loose fitted dress or romper. Keep it even more relaxed by pairing it with a cardigan or blazer (we swear by grey color outwears because they are versatile and so easy to match). Top this easy look with a pair of classic solid color ballerinas, pointy or round toe, will be sure to perfect your outfit.

A maxi dress is perfect for any first date, while you won’t reveal too much, a side slit with give you the perfect flirt. Welcome spring with a sweet floral pattern but keep your look sexy & chic with an ankle strap sandal (we’ve gushed endlessly about the fabulousness of this ultra-versatile-heel). Spring nights can still be a little chilly so stay warm and add a cool bold edge with a leather jacket.
